Citrix PS 4.0 Rollup 6: The XML document sent by the Citrix MetaFrame servers could not be processed

Wanneer na het uitrollen van rollup pack 6 op een Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 farm blijkt dat de gebruikers niet meer kunnen connecten en de volgende foutmeldingen krijgen:

Web Interface:

ERROR: The Citrix MetaFrame Servers cannot process your request at this time. The XML document sent by the Citrix MetaFrame servers could not be processed.

Program Neighborhood:

The ICA browser did not return any server names. You can enter server addresses in the Address list for the application set if there are no Citrix XenApp computers in your local subnet.

ERROR: An error has occurred while trying to enumerate your applications.

Aan de serverzijde is de volgende melding in de event log te vinden;

Dan zijn er waarschijnlijk published applications met een naam langer dan 38 tekens in de applicatielijst van de gebruiker. Het blijkt namelijk dat er een probleem zit in update rollup pack 6 waardoor er bij lange namen corruptie optreedt in de gegenereerde XML file. Een oplossing is natuurlijk het renamen van de betreffende applicaties, maar Citrix heeft ook een (private) hotfix uitegebracht met de naam PSE400R06W2K3014 welke hier te vinden is.

Citrix geeft zelf de volgende omschrijving:

Web Interface logons are not available for published applications with names that exceed 38 characters. XML errors and connections failures might be observed when attempting to establish a connection through the Web Interface or Program Neighborhood Agent. Hotfix PSE400R06W2K3014, available as Knowledge Center article CTX120046, adds support for published application names up to 256 characters in length. Apply the hotfix after installing this hotfix rollup pack.
